EXPLORE84 - DAY 30

Explore 84 - Day 30

Ups and Downs

When you are working at making improvements it's not a straight line. It's more like 2 steps forward and 1 step back - if you're lucky! The past few days I have been tired and questioning much of what I do on a daily basis as part of my 84 day journey. I've also been questioning what I do in general - why do I focus on the things I do?

I need to remind myself that I am not going to wake up every day with endless energy and motivation to take on the world. On days like today it's important to to the bare minimum, celebrate the small victories, and be grateful of anything awesome that happens.

Bare Minimum

I went to the gym this morning and sat on the stationary bike until I had completed the 5KM that I do everyday. Then I lifted weights. That's it - the bare minimum.

Small Victories

I had a coffee with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while. He toured me around his new office and we talked about projects we could work on together.

Gratitude

I did a great podcast with someone who shared their views on leadership with me. I am grateful that people take the time to meet up with me and share their stories on my podcast. I learn so much - and it fills my motivation tank!

On days like this when I know that I have been less than perfect I think of a quote from Tom Brady - "Progress over perfection."

Don't quit because you made a small mistake - work on a creating a small victory and take your two steps forward. Questioning yourself is good for you - it keeps you honest and shows you are self-aware. So answer the questions and keep moving forward!
